Building Your Own Computer: Getting Started
This page is basically a sitemap. The tree below links to information about computer parts, planning, software, assembly, and so forth. If you get lost, come back here.
The reason I use this unusual navigation system is because, in my experience, planning and building your own PC involves a lot of back-and-forth thinking and research, so I wanted to come up with a navigation scheme that allowed easy back-and-forth access to various parts of this rather large site.
Yeah, it's kind of weird, but it seems to work.
In some cases, the links here are to the first of several pages about the topics in question. In those cases, each first page will contain a mini-map of the other pages in that category.
It is recommended that you read multiple pages dealing with the same topics in the order in which they are presented.
If you have questions or comments about this site, please send an email to . I'm always happy to hear from you.
