Classic Shell is a small, free program (donations are accepted) that makes Windows 8 and 10 usable by banishing the horrid Metro interface and restoring some semblance of a usable GUI.

e-Sword

e-Sword is the Holy Bible in many different translations, as well as the original Hebrew and Greek. It also includes a wide variety of Bible study resources. This is a beautifully-written program that is offered free by it's developer, Rick Meyers. Available for Windows Vista through 10, as well as Mac, iPad, and iPhone

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a fast, free browser by Google.

Google Backup and Sync

At the time of this revision, Google Backup and Sync provided 15GB of storage for free. Any more than that you have to pay for.
